JOLIET, IL — Will County Sheriff's police have identified a second driver believed to be involved in a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 33-year-old Monee man June 25.

Dave Freiberger, of Manhattan, reportedly was astride a second motorcycle at the time of the collision that killed Jon Mitchell. Freiberger called 911, then fled before police arrived to the scene at Laraway and Manhattan roads.

Mitchell and a 35-year-old Manhattan woman were left at the scene. Mitchell was pronounced dead from his injuries on-site. The woman was found conscious and breathing. She was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for testing and non-life threatening injuries. The woman told police she was riding as a passenger on one of the bikes and was heading to Manhattan, but did not give police any further information.
