UPDATE: Man in Custody after Break-in at Manhattan Gun Shop
The search concludes after a man was arrested.

MANHATTAN, IL — Police Monday morning apprehended one suspect following a break-in at a gun shop in downtown Manhattan, police said.
Just before 6 a.m. Monday, police responded to a call of a break-in Gibbs Custom Gunsmithing, in the 100 block of North St. Police on the scene noticed a broken window, and observed the offender inside. Officers established a perimeter as other agencies arrived to assist. The suspect later fled through a window and gave chase on foot.
The man — described as a black male, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds — was hit with pepper spray before being taken into custody. He was captured near Sweedler Road and the bike trail near the Manhattan Metra station.

He was treated for difficulty breathing and taken to Silver Cross Hospital.
Will County Sheriff's police, New Lenox, Mokena and Frankfort assisted. The search concluded after the arrest.

The area was reopened to all traffic around 7:30 a.m.
Manhattan Police will continue to investigate and will confer with the Will County State's Attorney's office later today for criminal charges.
