Rebels Pay It Forward with Pizza!

Taking unused funds to support Local Police and Fire Firefighters

The New Lenox Rebels Baseball Association (NLBA) decided to use the funds from their In House Baseball Draft Night to support the New Lenox first responders. Each year the NLBA hosts a draft for their in house coaches. There are over 700 kids in the NLBA in house program. The draft night is where the coaches pick the players that will be playing on their team. The draft is sponsored by Pizza Mia in New Lenox. However, the draft was cancelled this year due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The funds that were budgeted for the baseball draft were going unused.

President Jim O'Dette and the New Lenox Rebels Executive Board decided that those funds should be used to support our great New Lenox first responders. On Wednesday, March 10, the NLBA were able to deliver pizzas, with the help of the great folks at New Lenox Pizza Mia, to the firefighters and police officers. "Our goal is to be a large part of the New Lenox community each year" said O'Dette.
