Roadside Safety Checkpoint Planned In Will County On Friday

WILL COUNTY, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office, with Illinois State Police District 5, will conduct a DUI roadside safety checkpoint somewhere in the county on Friday.
The sheriff's office said the checkpoint will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the location will not be disclosed to the public.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote roadway safety through DUI enforcement, the sheriff's office shared on its Facebook page.

"By having random and periodic roadside checkpoints, both departments hope to instill in the public our intent to dissuade people from drinking and driving," the sheriff's office said on its Facebook.
The Illinois Labor Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is funded by federal highway safety funds administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
