Route 30 Water Main Construction Planned In New Lenox

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox residents will see some construction along Route 30 this year, as the village plans to replace the water main from Nelson Road to Church Street. The bid opening for the project is Jan. 17, and the bid will be awarded Jan. 28, the village said.

The majority of the water main is currently 8 inches, and has had several repairs done throughout the years. The project will upsize the water main to 12 inches on the south side of Route 30. The village said most of the main will be placed in the parkway and out of the driving lanes.

"Substantial completion" of the project is expected by November 2020, the village said.
