Two Arrested on Drug Charges after Sting Operation
Police say the men arranged the delivery of nearly 100 pounds of cannabis to an undercover cop.

MOKENA, IL — Two men are facing drug charges after an undercover agent intercepted nearly 100 pounds of cannabis delivered to the area.
Jacob Burkam, 39, of Santa Barbara, California and 26-year-old Joseph Sanders of Crows Landing, California were the target of a investigation of cannabis trafficking. The investigation concluded Jan. 10 with the delivery of 94 pounds of cannabis to an undercover agent, police said in a release.
The arrest took place in a Mokena hotel parking lot. The arrest was made by New Lenox Police with the assistance of Homeland Security as a result of an investigation conducted jointly by both agencies.

Both men were charged with felonies including possession of cannabis, delivery of cannabis, and cannabis trafficking.
Burkham and Sanders were transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility where they will be held pending a bond hearing that is scheduled for Wednesday.
