Appointments are still available for the clinic; you must sign up by Thursday.

NEW LENOX, IL — For those looking for a COVID-19 vaccine, Silver Cross Hospital has appointments available for its vaccine clinic on Friday. You must sign up for the clinic by Thursday.
The clinic, for the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, will be held at the hospital from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The hospital has held dozens of vaccination clinics since it received its first shipments of the vaccine in mid-December, Director of Marketing and Community Relations Debra Robbins told Patch.

"Silver Cross has been actively engaged in support of the state’s mass vaccination plan since mid-December, when it began vaccinating healthcare workers," Robbins said. "Under the guidance of the Will County Health Department and Will County Executive, we expanded our vaccination efforts and began vaccinating the community with dozens of vaccine clinics here at our New Lenox campus."
In April, Will County began vaccinating any individual age 16 and up.

"To date, Silver Cross has given out over 30,000 COVID-19 vaccines, making us one of the busiest vaccine sites in Will County," Robbins said.
Over the course of the pandemic, Silver Cross has collected more than 60,000 COVID-19 rests and treated more than 2,300 COVID-19 inpatients, Robbins said.
"We’re privileged to provide this service to our community that we know will save lives, and we’re grateful to collaborate with the Will County Health Department and the Will County Executive and will continue to do all that we can to help bring an end to COVID-19," she said.
As of Tuesday, 203,370 Will County residents are fully vaccinated, according to IDPH data. That represents 29.38 percent of the population. In Illinois, about 4.1 million people are fully vaccinated, or 32.54 percent of the population.
