Will County Plans Information Meeting For Gougar Road Project

The virtual information meeting will be held June 1, and will include an open forum for the public to give comment.

WILL COUNTY, IL — The Will County Division of Transportation will present proposed Gougar Road improvements at a virtual public information meeting on June 1 at 8 p.m.

Gougar Road is a county highway which travels through parts of Joliet, New Lenox and unincorporated Will County, according to the project website. It is a two-lane road under the jurisdiction of Will County Division of Transportation.

According to the project website, the project is in the first of three phases. The first phase consists of developing and evaluating alternatives to meet project goals, environmental studies and preliminary design.

"The intent of the project is to investigate and address the capacity of the roadway to accommodate future traffic demands while ensuring a safe and efficient traffic flow," the project website states.

You can register for the meeting online, and you will be emailed a link to the meeting. The presentation will also be available for 30 days after the meeting on the project website, according to the county.

The public can provide comments during the open forum or after the presentation through a comment form.
