Will County's Small Business Assistance Grant Program Reopens!

Small businesses have experienced unprecedented disruptions and financial challenges due to the COVID-19 public health crisis. Will County recognizes its small businesses have struggled to pay bills, keep customers, and stay afloat through the uncertainties of this pandemic.

Will county has earmarked more than $24 million for a Small Business Assistance Grant Program to provide financial assistance to small businesses impacted by COVID-19 so they can maintain operations. Your business may be eligible for up to $15,000. Businesses that meet the eligibility criteria listed below are encouraged to visit the Will County website (www.willcountyillinois.com/COVIDbizgrant) for additional info, FAQs, webinars, and the grant application. Applications will be accepted online and must be received by Monday, November 16th.

Only businesses that meet these eligibility criteria will be eligible to receive funding:

1. Located in Will County

2. Annual gross revenue must not exceed $5 million

3. Employ fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees

4. In good standing with the IRS, State of Illinois, and Will County

5. In business on February 15, 2020

6. Sole proprietors and independent contractor are eligible provided they meet additional criteria (Listed on website)

Preference Criteria:

1. Businesses that were forced to shut down by Illinois Stay at Home Order will be given preference

2. Businesses that have not already received other COVID-19 assistance(e.g., IL BIG, SBA loans, PPP) will be given preference

3. Businesses in the hospitality industry (e.g., restaurants, bars, hotels)

Small businesses impacted financially by COVID-19 are encouraged to apply for Grant Funds.
