4 Crash SUV Fleeing Robbery, Sought In Homicide: Police

Four people fleeing a robbery are turned over to Chicago police for homicide investigation when their SUV crashes in Oak Lawn, police said.

BURBANK, IL — Four people wanted in connection to a homicide investigation were taken into custody when their SUV crashed while fleeing a robbery, police said.

Around 10 a.m. Oct. 31, Burbank police went to the 8100 block of South LeClaire Avenue on an armed robbery call. A 38-year-old man said he had been robbed by two men, who stole his wallet, cellphone and a purse, which was in his car, police said. One of the pair allegedly hit the man on the side of the head with the gun.

Both men got into a black Jeep Cherokee before heading north on LeClaire Avenue. The SUV crashed in Oak Lawn, and four people were taken into custody. The four were turned over to Chicago police investigating a homicide.
