95th Street To Be Closed 2 Weeks For Rail Crossing Repairs
IDOT and Metra will repair the badly deteriorating rail crossing on 95th Street east of 52nd Avenue starting June 16.

OAK LAWN, IL — A major rail crossing repair project will cause some temporary traffic headaches in Oak Lawn that will close 95th Street east of 52nd Avenue for two weeks. The good news is, once it's finished, we won’t have to worry about damaging our tie rods or tires anymore.
The Illinois Department of Transportation, in conjunction with METRA, is planning to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on 95th Street east of 52nd Avenue in Oak Lawn. Starting June 16, 95th Street will be fully closed to thru-traffic at the crossing, by the children’s museum. The closure will begin June 16 and conclude on or before June 27, weather permitting.
The posted vehicle detour route for eastbound traffic on 95th Street is to proceed north on Central Avenue, east on 87th Street, south on Cicero Avenue, and back to 95th Street. The posted vehicle detour route for westbound traffic on 95th Street is to proceed north on Cicero Avenue, west on 87th Street, south on Central Avenue, back to 95th Street.
