Advocate Christ Rehab Program Ranked Best in State

Advocate Christ Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Department was recently named the top rehabilitation facility in the State of Illinois by Newsweek.

Newsweek recently published “America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2020” highlighting the nation’s top physical rehabilitation facilities based on quality of care, service and follow-up care, accommodations and amenities.

“I am so proud of this team. In the current environment of consumer empowerment and transparency, I’m delighted that our patients can be assured that they will receive the very best care right here in their own community versus having to travel downtown,” said Dr. Adair, Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

More than 30 full-time and part-time physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and rehab techs treat patients with a variety of symptoms related to brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injury and much more.

Lindsey Hack, Executive Director of Rehabilitation Services, said collaboration between the medical team and therapists is key to successfully rehabilitating patients.

“We continuously rehabilitate the most complex patients in Illinois after life changing health events and surgeries. It is not lost on me that our inpatient rehab facility is able to do this because of our exceptionally skilled physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, nurses and physicians,” she said.

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Illinois Masonic Medical Center were also ranked second and third, respectively, in Newsweek’s America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers of 2020 list.
