Applications Still Being Accepted For OL Independence Day Parade

OAK LAWN, IL — The deadline to march in Oak Lawn’s Independence Day Parade has been extended to June 23. Organizations, scouts, veterans, businesses, civic groups, youth sports teams, dance troupes, schools and places of worship have until June 26 to complete an application to march in the parade.

This year, the parade will be held at 4 p.m. July 3. Staging will be at Fifth Third Bank at 95th Street and Lacrosse Avenue.

If interested in participating, please provide the following information:

• Detailed information on your lineup and the number of people in your group.
• Decorations are mandatory for all vehicles entered in the parade.
• Business entries are required to have one decorated vehicle per group. Please indicate the number of people walking in your group.

• DO NOT THROW CANDY OR PROMOTIONAL ITEMS; participants are asked to hand it to parade watchers.
