The varsity cheerleaders from Shepard High School earned their best raw score in program history at the IHSA state finals on Friday.
“They performed their routine perfectly and exceeded their goals this season,” said head coach Nicole Staehlin.
Season highlights included winning first place at the Sandburg Invitational, taking second place at the South Suburban Conference tournament, and placing second at the Niles West sectional to qualify for the state finals for the 23rd time in the past 25 years.
