Band Line-Up Announced For Oak Lawn Sunday Concerts On The Green
Live music returns to the Oak Lawn Village Green with eight Sunday concerts planned in 2021 from swing to rock, including a teen showcase.

OAK LAWN, IL — Live music returns to Oak Lawn with a rebranded Sunday Concerts On The Green. The great collaboration of the village and Oak Lawn Park District has lined up eight outdoor concerts.
This year, the Oak Lawn Arts and Events Commission has changed up the beloved summer concert series, by introducing a teen showcase where Oak Lawn teens can show off their performance skills. More concerts are also being pushed into the fall.
“With COVID-19 canceling Fall On The Green last year, we pushed the concerts later into the fall,” said Tr. Paul Mallo (3rd District), who chairs the arts and events commission. “It gives people a chance to do their vacations. It was an opportunity to change things.”

The commission has also gotten rid of Fall On the Green’s Teen Battle of the Bands, which ended up attracting a lot of interlopers from the far corners of the Chicago region and border states. Instead, a teen showcase will be featured on July 11 as part of the Sunday concert series. Teens age 13 through 19 will be given the chance to perform before a live audience, including bands, soloists and instrumentalists. More information is to come. The teen showcase is being coordinated by arts and events commissioner Gincy Hartin.
All concerts start at 7 p.m. on the Oak Lawn Village Green, 9446 S. Raymond Ave., east of village hall. Admission is free.
