Bulldogs win 5th straight SSC bowling championship

LaBonte, Attig go 1-2

The varsity boys bowling team from Richards High School won the South Suburban Conference Red Division championship yesterday this past weekend.

Down 55 pins entering the final game, the Bulldogs rallied to edge Reavis by 28 pins. For the Richards, the victory means they have won conference five straight years. The Richards seniors never lost a dual match in their four years.

Junior Danny LaBonte won the individual SSC Red championship with a pin fall of 1005 over four games. Senior Blake Attig took second with a pin fall of 990.

Girls bowlers Noelani Guerrero (7th place) and Natalia Stekala (10th) joined Attig and LaBonte in earning All-South Suburban Conference honors this weekend at the SSC tournament.
