Connect With Employers Saturday At U.S. Rep. Newman's Job Fair

Connect with more than 15 companies, businesses and government agencies looking to hire local workers June 19 at Kennedy High School.

CHICAGO — U.S. Rep. Marie Newman (IL-03) will host a first-ever summer jobs festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Kennedy High School, 6326 W. 56th St., Chicago. The job fair is designed to connect residents of Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District with 15 Chicago-area businesses, organizations and government agencies that are looking to hire local employees.

The CTA, Chicago Police Department, Richard J. Daley College and UPS are just a few of the employers who’ve signed on to meet with job candidates at this Saturday’s fair. The congresswoman hopes the summer job festival will bridge the gap between the job seeker and employer.

“As Illinois and the rest of the nation reopens and recovers from this pandemic, our local companies, restaurants and organizations are looking for workers today,” Newman said in a news release. “Let’s get our workers back to work, because when we do, our entire community benefits. I look forward to seeing everyone at our first-ever summer job festival this weekend.”
