OAK LAWN, IL — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

Where: Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue.

When: 9:15 p.m.

This is an aerial show only, as the football stadium is closed and undergoing construction, so watch the ‘works from alternate locations. There will be no main gathering place, so find a spot to watch them. Harker Park (104th/Minnick), Memorial Park (102/Major) and Wolfe Wildlife Refuge (109th/Laramie) may offer the best views, per the park district. A resident also suggested the ball fields at 98th/Central.

Patrons watching fireworks will NOT be permitted to use the Racquet, Fitness & Gymnastics Center's parking lot.
