Gaslight Bar Reopening Less Than 'Grand' When Woman Pulls Gun: Police
Oak Lawn police said the gun confrontation stemmed from an argument over tips at the grand opening of the bar under new ownership.

OAK LAWN, IL ? A Dolton woman is facing a felony gun charge when police said she pulled a gun on two employees at an Oak Lawn bar.
Around 3:40 a.m. July 10, Oak Lawn police were called to the Gaslight Bar and Grill at 51st Avenue and 95th Street, which was celebrating its grand opening under new ownership, for a disturbance. Two women told police that two men were pulling away in a Maserati heading eastbound on 95th Street.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the Maserati, where they found a Canik TPSF 9mm handgun on the back seat, a heavily redacted police report said. Both men got out of the car and the gun was secured. According to the report, the men told the officers that they were leaving the bar for the night, when a woman confronted them.

They alleged that Brea Gill, 25, pulled a gun from her waistband and pulled the slide back, leading them to think that she had chambered a round, then pointed it at them.
Both men tackled Gill and a female bartender to the ground, according to the police report. They disarmed Gill and got into the Maserati and were driving east on 95th Street when officers stopped them. The men told the officers that the gun belonged to Gill, police said.

Police also spoke to Gill, who said a bartender at the Gaslight was upset with another bartender who claimed she cheated her out of tips, according to the report. Gill and the bartender went outside behind the bar when the manager and security guard came out.
Gill said they all began to argue about the tip shortage. In a heavily redacted police report, Gill said that two men "beat the s**t" out of them. Police said neither of the women mentioned a gun being involved.
Police said the gun had a magazine with six 9mm bullets and one in the chamber. Officers also reportedly found four bullets on the ground.
Gill admitted to owning the gun and told police the men took it away, police said. She has a FOID card but not a concealed-carry license, reports said. Police said she and the other woman both refused medical attention for their injuries during the struggle.
Gill was taken into custody and brought to the Oak Lawn police station, where she requested an ambulance. Oak Lawn paramedics transferred Gill to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Gill told officers that she and the bartender were talking to the security guard, who was being "cool," the report said. She claimed that the other bartender approached the women and that is when she pulled the gun out of her waist and chambered a round, police said.
According to police, Gill admitted she did not have a CCL and shouldn?t have been carrying it.
The Cook County State?s Attorney?s office approved a felony charge of aggravated assault/unlawful use of a weapon. Gill was also charged with two misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault.
