Get a Leg-Up on Your Neighbors: Sign Up for Oak Lawn Park District Programs Today
Your preview of the biggest events and occasions this week in Oak Lawn.

Are you ready for fall? The Oak Lawn Park District sure is. Get your first pick of fall programs today, Monday, Aug. 5. Resident registration continues until the starting date of each program or up until the program is filled or cancelled, unless a registration deadline is otherwise listed.
With more than 100 programs for adults and kids alike, this fall promises to be an exciting time to get out and do something new or sign up for something you already know you love.
Some new programs include:
- Wally Ball Leagues - an adult league for the sport first conceived in Illinois and growing ever since.
- R.I.P.P.E.D. - a Resistance, Interval, Power, Plyometric, and Endurance workout.
- Restorative Yoga - a stress-reducing, relaxing and renewing yoga practice.
- Mama Bootie Camp - a two-day a week fitness class for Moms with child(ren) in strollers. Forget the babysitter; in this class, you bring your kids along for your workout.
- Zumba Fitness - the dance craze that's taking over the nation comes to Oak Lawn.
- Dinner on a Dime - a program featuring restaurants on a budget for teens.
- And many more!
While non-residents are unable to sign up for programs until Aug. 19, they are able to begin signing up for trips starting today. Trip registration for residents began last Friday.
Be sure to register for your favorite programs today before they fill up.

- ALL WEEK - Evergreen Park Public Library's Gigantic Book Sale
- Wednesday - Oak Lawn Farmers' Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Wednesday - Movie screening of Girl Rising at 7:30 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center
- Thursday - Southwest Orthopedics hosts Business After Hours, a networking event with Chamber of Commerce officials and local business owners
- Friday through Sunday - West Side Story continues its run at the Oak View Center, with shows Friday and Saturday night and a Sunday matinee
- Sunday - Evan's World Benefit for Evan Sauerwein, a nine-year-old with Burkitt's lymphoma
- Sunday - Pretty in Pink Slip Gala at 6 p.m. in Mokena
