History for Richards senior Kayla McSweeney
First four-time state tennis qualifier from Richards!

The Richards High School varsity girls tennis team placed fifth at the IHSA Sectional this weekend. Kayla McSweeney took second in singles to qualify for the state tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
She became the first girls tennis player in Richards history to earn this achievement.
"Her semifinal win also marked the first time she has won a match on day two of sectional play, one of the few achievements that had eluded her during her high school career. Kayla will look to win her third consecutive SSC championship this week," said coach Connor Reynolds.

Other members of the Sectional team included seniors Trinity Dockery and Joanna Lupa, as well as sophomore Julie Casey and junior Thea Wyzykowski.
"No Richards team or player was shut out in a set for the whole tournament, which demonstrates how hard all these student-athletes fight for every point," coach added.
