Man Solicits Teen On Dating App Who Turns Out To Be Cop: Sheriff

The 65-year-old Bridgeview man gave undercover cop directions to his residence by Pace bus, police said.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL – A 65-year-old Bridgeview man arranged a meetup with a teenage boy he met on a dating app, only to find out he was talking to an undercover Cook County Sheriff’s police officer, according to investigators.

David Luperini, whose last known address is the Motel 6, 9625 76th Ave., Bridgeview, is facing felony charges of one count of attempt aggravated criminal sexual abuse, two counts of indecent solicitation of a minor, one count of travelling to meet a minor, and one count of grooming.

Thinking he was conversing with a 15-year-old boy, police said Luperini began sending explicit messages describing the sexual acts he would perform with the boy. Luperini suggested that he and the boy meet up, giving the undercover police officer directions to his house on the Pace bus, police said.

On Oct. 23, the undercover investigator arranged to meet Luperini at his residence. Investigators took Luperini into custody when they arrived at the predetermined meeting spot, police said.

While in police custody, he allegedly told police that he knew he was talking to a 15-year-old boy. Sheriff’s police said Luperini acknowledged sending pictures of himself when he was shown copies of the sexual messages. According to the charges, Luperini admitted planning to bringing the boy back to his resident after meeting him.

Luperini appeared for a bond hearing on Saturday at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse where he was issued a $30,000 D bond with electronic monitoring. He is due back in court Oct. 27 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
