Mariano's, Jewel, Fairplay Open Thanksgiving Day In Oak Lawn

OAK LAWN, IL — While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It’s a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Oak Lawn for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Jewel-Osco: Stores will be open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

95th Street and Pulaski Road
103rd Street and Cicero Avenue
87th Street and State Road (Ridgeland Avenue)

Mariano’s: Stores open 6 a.m., close at 5 p.m.; pharmacies closed.

Meijer: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. (regular hours)

9200 S. Western Ave., Evergreen Park

Pete’s Fresh Market: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

3720 W. 95th St., Evergreen Park

Fairplay Foods: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

8700 S. Cicero Ave., Oak Lawn
8631 W. 95th St., Hickory Hills
6620 W. 111th St., Worth

Tony’s Fresh Market: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

8630 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview
7770 S. Cicero Ave., Burbank
