Move Over, Bernie, Oak Lawn's Got Ernie

Oak Lawn youngsters' dapper snowman greatly resembles the statue of the late, great mayor in front of village hall.

Oak Lawn brothers Joey Wos, 12, and his 8-year-old brother, Michael, built their version of a snow man that reminds us of the late, great Mayor Ernie Kolb, at 9325 S. Meade Ave., Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — We don’t know if Joey and Michael Wos’ intention was to create a snowman that resembled the statue in front of village hall, but this debonair Sasquatch reminds us a lot of the late, great mayor of Oak Lawn — Ernie Kolb.

Joey, 12, and his 8-year-old kid brother Michael worked on their snowman over the weekend. Their mom, Sandy Wos, sent us this photo of her sons’ version of a “Snow MAN” after we ran Sean O’Shea’s Viking long boat.

When we asked Sandy if the boys’ snow man was meant to resemble Ernie Kolb, she replied: “OMG, I forgot all about the statue.”
