Oak Lawn Brawl Caught On Video As Dozens Fight In Street

Police broke up a large fight Saturday afternoon involving dozens of young people attending a party, residents said.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police broke up a large brawl involving dozens of young people late Saturday afternoon. Residents called 911 around 6 p.m. to report a fight in progress.

Residents told Patch that a party was taking place a few doors down when an altercation spilled out on to the lawn. A video of the incident taken by residents showed numerous young people pushing, shoving and fighting their way down the sidewalk in front of several houses. A man also appeared to be hitting another person with a pipe. Some participants in the fight appeared to be of high school age.

The fight was said to have started in a home where a large party was taking place. Oak Lawn police were seen leading a man in handcuffs to a patrol car.

The incident is under investigation that Oak Lawn police said involved adults and juveniles.
