OAK LAWN, IL — With a winter storm warning for Monday through Tuesday, now is probably a good time to remind Oak Lawn residents of the village's confusing snow parking rules.

Heavy snowfall with totals of up to 8 inches is expected in many areas, including southern Cook County beginning 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 and continuing through the overnight hours until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26.

When there is more than one-inch of snowfall, there is no parking on designated snow routes until snow removal operations are completed. Also, the village's odd/even ordinance is in effect.

There is no parking on even-numbered sides of the streets on even-numbered days, and no parking on odd-numbered sides on odd-numbered days. This means that on Monday, Jan. 25, you'll want to park on the odd-numbered side of the street; and on Tuesday, Jan. 26, the even-numbered side of the street. Residents’ cooperation means that the streets get cleaned that much sooner.
