Over 900 Students Turn Out For D123 Drive-Thru Spooktacular

Oak Lawn-Hometown Dist. 123 hosted a socially distant drive-thru Halloween celebration for students on Oct. 24.

OAK LAWN, IL — D123 PTA/PTO/PTSA hosted a drive-through, socially distant Spooklactuar on Oct. 25. Over 900 students from Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, Hannum, Sward, Covington, Kolmar and Hometown collected pre-bagged candy and showed off their costumes in their parents’ cars.

The front lawn of the middle school was decked out with various spooky Halloween scenes. The Oak Lawn Batmobile also put in an appearance.

D123’s parent organizations wanted to do some for students since so many Halloween parties and events have been canceled because of the pandemic. Many families, businesses and organizations donated financially, candy or created awesome displays, including:
