Park Lawn Queen of Hearts Raffle Swells To $19,495 And Growing

OAK LAWN, IL — Park Lawn’s progressive Queen of Hearts raffle jackpot is back and has swelled to over $19,495 and is still growing. The elusive lady has yet come out of hiding after another interruption by the pandemic. Last week's pick was the 10 of diamonds, the winner of which received 24 free tickets for the next drawing.

The next big pick is this Wednesday, Feb. 17. The drawing has been moved to 7 p.m. every Wednesday, at At The Office Sports Bar and Grill, 4901 Cal Sag Road, Crestwood. Tickets are on sale now for this week's drawing: 6 for $5 (tickets can be purchased in $5 increments), 10 for $12, or 24 for $20. No single tickets will be sold. Players must be 18 or older. Ticket sales end at 6:50 p.m. the night of the drawing. One ticket will be drawn every Wednesday.

Unlike some Queen of Hearts raffles, Park Lawn purchases a laminated, serial-numbered board from a manufacturer. Nobody at Park Lawn knows where the queen o' hearts is hiding.

If purchasing online, the purchaser will be only allowed to select a single number to represent the card in which they want to be revealed on the Queen of Hearts game board. That number, along with the buyer's name and phone number, will be written by a Park Lawn representative.

The winner of each weekly drawing will receive 24 tickets to put toward the next week's drawing. Find the ATO (Ace of Spades) card and win a free weekly drink on At The Office. One drink per week, maximum 52 weeks. (Winner must be present for the ATO prize.)

If the Queen of Hearts is revealed and the winner is present, 60 percent of the jackpot goes to the winner with 40-percent going to Park Lawn's residential, vocational and support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If not present, 50 percent of the jackpot goes to the winner and 50 percent to Park Lawn.

Here's how the game works: The game consists of a deck of 52 shuffled playing cards plus the two jokers. Each is placed into a sealed envelope and placed on the board. A raffle ticket is drawn every week, and that person gets to reveal a card. If the queen of hearts surfaces, that's the big winner; otherwise, the jackpot rolls over.
