Shepard softball celebrates as Clifford earns win 200

Astros punctuate career milestone with Gatorade bath! .

They were ready. Once the offense hit its stride and broke open a close game against Oak Lawn, the Shepard High School varsity softball team acted quickly.

The Astros just beat Oak Lawn by a score of 11-1 to give head coach Kelsey Clifford her 200th career victory. And within seconds the players grabbed the Gatorade bucket and doused Clifford.

Clifford and assistant coach Ashley Levicke, who have worked together for 10 years, have built a winner. They’ve won the South Suburban Conference Red Division championship four times in the past five years and occupy first place this season.

This season they’ve also celebrated all six seniors signing to play college softball.
