OAK LAWN, IL — Halloween went on for hundreds of youngsters who braved the snow and cold to go trick-or-treating. This year’s most popular costume was bundled-up child, as kids

Despite the snow and cold, Halloween went on for hundreds of youngsters who braved the elements to go trick or treating. This year’s most popular costume was “bundled up child,” as kids wore coats over or under their costumes.

Over at Bill Krickl’s house on Kildare in Oak Lawn, hundreds of kids turned out for his popular garage haunt, which featured 150 red pool noodles and son, Andy, as Pennywise from “It” threw a scare into kids who ventured into the garage for a treat. The Kirckls gave out 500 pieces of candy, not a record year, but a good turnout considering the weather. They also collected $101 in donations for Park Lawn, which Bill and wife, Nancy, matched.

Trick-or-treaters didn't let the snow stop them from visiting Bill Kirckl's haunted garage.
