On Tuesday, most of the Chicago area was hit with scattered showers, high winds and cloudy skies, but nothing that approached “tornado-like” conditions. In Summit, however, the storm damaged rooftops and trees, and the debris damaged homes and cars.

Roberto Galvaz told NBC the storm felled a tree in his yard, which shattered the front window of his house. “It must have been some really strong wind coming through here,” said Galvaz.

Mari Gonzalez said the winds tore off part of her parents’ roof, and the debris landed on her car.
