Vehicle Crashes Into House In Burbank

People inside the vehicle that crashed into a Burbank home may have been followed by police from another town for another case.

BURBANK, IL — There is major police activity happening near 85th Street and Narragansett Avenue in Burbank with several streets closed off in the area.

Activity seems to be focused on a block of West 85th Street off Narragansett. Burbank police told Patch that a person drove into a house shortly around 12:15 p.m. Monday.

Two people from the vehicle to be in custody and another man, possibly armed, remains at large. The Burbank Police Department is handling the accident end of the incident.

Other police sources told Patch that officers from another town may have been following the vehicle before it crashed.

A police helicopter was hovering over the area from 87th Street to 85th Street between Narrragansett Avenue and Normandy Avenue, which is being blocked off from local traffic.

Attention seems to be focused on a block of 85th Street immediately off of Narragansett, which was roped off with yellow crime tape. Three women carrying groceries who lived on the block were not allowed through. A young man walked across the lawns inside the perimeter and told a Burbank fire official that “my grandma needs to take her medication.” They were allowed through.

In addition to Burbank police, officers from Bedford Park, North Riverside, Bridge, Oak Lawn, Cook County Sheriff and Illinois State Police are combing the neighborhood.
