1 Rescued from Apartment Fire in Orland Park Saturday
The fire broke out in a Cameron Parkway townhouse.

ORLAND PARK, IL — One person was rescued from a house fire Saturday morning in Orland Park. The Orland Fire Protection District responded to a 9-1-1 call for a fire inside a four-unit townhouse on Cameron Parkway at about 8:30 a.m.
One resident was treated for burn injuries and taken to Silver Cross Hospital and another evaluated on scene but not hospitalized.
Orland firefighters arrived on the scene in two minutes and saw fire in a second-floor bedroom window as a resident ran into the building. Firefighters followed him inside and removed him as others from the crew worked quickly to control and extinguish the fire, according to the Orland Fire Protection District.

Crews from Orland, assisted on the scene by Mokena and Homer, searched for an unaccounted for occupant of the residence, extinguished the fire, and checked the other three units for occupants and evidence the fire spread. The fire was under control within 20 minutes, according to a statement from the fire district.
The fire was confined to the condo unit where the flames began. Other units suffered some smoke damage.

The fire unit had extensive fire and smoke damage and is not inhabitable. The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the occupants of all four units and the complex management company.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
