Crash Shuts Down 159th Street In Orland, At Least 2 Injured

Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash near 159th Street and 91st Avenue in Orland Hills.

ORLAND HILLS, IL — More than one person was injured in a Monday afternoon crash on 159th Street near 91st Avenue in Orland Hills, multiple law enforcement agencies have said. The Illinois State Police accident reconstruction team has been called to the scene regarding a "possible fatality." Two people were taken to area hospitals, according to another law enforcement source.

Orland Park police confirmed they are also helping authorities in Orland Hills investigate the multi-car crash that was reported around 3 p.m. The Cook County Sheriff's Office also helped in the investigation.

A box truck and three other cars were involved, sources said. All cars in the crash sustained "major damage." WGN has a couple of photos embedded below.

159th Street was closed between 91st Avenue and 88th Avenue for the next several hours as the investigation unfolded.
