CHICAGO, IL — A Northwest Side husband and wife believed to have been lost and confused in the south suburbs were found safe Friday morning and have been reunited with family.
Hector Fernandez, 80, and Maria de Fernandez, 85, of the 6300 block of North Cicero Avenue, were in a car Thursday at 8:30 p.m. when they were stopped by suburban police near 167th and LaGrange Road, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The officer encountered a language barrier, Tribune reports, and mistakenly pointed them to the 6300 block of South Cicero Avenue. They were believed to be confused, did not have cell phones with them, and presumably exhausted from driving for a long period of time.
