Investigation Ongoing into Crash that Killed Teen
The 17-year-old was mowing the lawn when he was fatally struck June 17 in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park police are still investigating a June 17 crash that killed a teen while he was mowing the lawn.
The 17-year-old boy was on foot in the Silo Ridge subdivision when a car veered off the roadway and struck him. He was taken to St. James Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m. The driver—a 73-year-old male—also struck a brick mailbox and was not injured.
The Orland Park Police Traffic Safety Unit was called to the scene for investigation and crash reconstruction. No charges or citations had been issued as of late Friday night. The Orland Park Police Department is not releasing the names of any individuals involved at this time as this is an active investigation.
