A Love Letter To Tom Fawcett
A steakhouse busboy and hat check girl went their separate ways but rekindled their romance decades later.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Chris Cenrick’s love letter to her husband, Tom:
“Tom Fawcett and Chris Cisko met in 1968 at Timberlane Steak House on Western Ave. Tom was a busboy and Chris was the hat check girl. They worked together, dated, hung out at each other’s houses and were best friends. Chris went to NIU in 1972 and by the spring of 1973 they went their separate ways. Tom married in 1974 and had four children. Chris married in 1976 and had two children. Both Tom and Chris got divorced during the 1990s.
In 2006, Tom put a note in Chris' mailbox asking her to meet for a drink at the Canoe Club. The meeting was full of catching up, family stories, career highlights and reminiscing. Both left the Canoe Club knowing their story was not over. Twelve years later, Tom and Chris celebrate each day knowing that they are meant to grow old together.”
