Man Suffers Electric Shock in Accident at Mall

The man was working on a light fixture outside JCPenney at Orland Square Mall Monday.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A 33-year-old man was hospitalized with burns to his face and extremities Monday afternoon after he endured an electric shock in a loading dock area at Orland Square Mall.

The man was working on a light fixture near JCPenney when the accident happened around 1 p.m. He was standing on a tractor-trailer to reach the light structure, Daily Southtown reports. Firefighters and medics stabilized the man, who was then taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the report.

It is not known if the man was a store employee.
