Orland Park Chick-fil-A Hosting Fundraiser for Officer Tim Jones on May 24
Event includes Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Socity Chicago Police Department, raffle for Blackhawks tickets

ORLAND PARK, IL — Chick-fil-A at Orland Park will host a fundraiser on Tuesday, May 24 to benefit Park Forest Police Officer Tim Jones who was shot and critically injured in the line of duty on March 19.
Featuring the Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald Society Chicago Police Department, the event will also include other musical entertainment, games, face painting and balloon twisting along with other activities. In addition, a raffle of donated items, including Chicago Blackhawks tickets, will take place. The event will be held between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the restaurant located at 15605 South La Grange Rd. Franchise Owner Kevin Bulmann and his team will host the event and will donate a percentage of sales during that time to a fund established to help defray Jones’ medical costs.
Jones, a rookie officer with the Park Forest Police Department, was responding to a reported break-in with other officers on March 19 when the suspect opened fire on police. Jones was shot several times and remains in critical condition. The son of Williams Jones, chief of police in Country Club Hills, Jones quickly immersed himself in community service during his short time on the force. In addition to volunteering with the Special Olympics and Toys for Tots, Jones regularly visits schools and libraries to interact with chidren, creating apositive image of police work. In addition to other community involvement, he personally purchased bicycles as birthday and Christmas gifts to donate to children in need.

“Officer Jones very quickly became a vital part of our community both through his police service and his volunteer work in our schools and neighorhoods,” said Bulmann. “We are excited to do something to try to ease the financial strain on him and his family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers for a complete recovery continue.”
