ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Police Department is hosting its annual Citizens Police Academy next month to offer an inside perspective into law enforcement within the Village of Orland Park.

The curriculum includes functions of the department’s patrol and investigations divisions. Participants also will meet officers serving in the traffic unit, DARE program and schools. The department’s K-9 Unit also will conduct a demonstration in which participants may participate in mock traffic stops along with other simulations.

"Every year, the Orland Park Police Department invites local adults to participate in our citizens' academy to give an inside perspective into local law enforcement," said Chief Tim McCarthy in statement. "This is an excellent way to learn about the daily responsibilities of the police department and its members."
