Orland Park Police Chief Named Interim Village Manager

Tim McCarthy will take over for Paul Grimes on July 19, while officials move forward with the search for a permanent replacement.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy has been named Interim Village Manager, as current manager Paul Grimes prepares to leave the role.

The interim manager will serve beginning July 19.

"Tim McCarthy knows the Village of Orland Park and how it operates," said Mayor Dan McLaughlin in a release. "He holds a deep, passionate commitment to serving the people of Orland Park and has demonstrated this every day during his 22 years as the village's chief of police."

Grimes will move on to serve as city manager for the City of McKinney, Texas. In the coming weeks, McLaughlin and trustees will interview a number of search firms to help find Orland Park's next village manager.
