Orland Township Hosts Job Search Seminar

Improve online skills for today's employment market

Orland Township will offer a seminar to help residents improve their interview skills for the current virtual job search market, according to the office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

The seminar will focus on helping attendees improve their online interview skills and following up after the interview, including steps to take after landing the job. This is the second seminar being held by Orland Township. The first, held in early March, focused on utilizing social media and LinkedIn® and the importance of personal branding.

The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia, Orland Park.

“The job market remains extremely competitive due to pandemic shutdowns,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “Orland Township is proud to offer this free seminar to help residents hone their online interviewing skills to improve their chances of gaining employment.”

The seminar will be led by Dr. Maribeth Hearn, a career readiness expert for Vocational Strategy, Inc. Dr. Hearn’s extensive knowledge of LinkedIn® strategy and personal branding helps her lead people to discover their vocation and then thrive in the workplace. Dr. Hearn is a strategic thinker and effective leader thanks to her 20 years of award-winning business leadership and over 10 years as an adjunct professor at a private Midwest university.

The seminar is free to attend but space is limited. To reserve a seat, call Orland Township at (708) 403-4222.

Social distancing will be observed during the seminars and attendees will be required to wear a face mask. Attendees may also wish to bring a copy of their resume to review and update during the seminar.
