Residents Displaced after Apartment Fire

The fire happened Wednesday evening on Treetop Drive.

ORLAND PARK, IL — All residents made it out safely but an apartment building in Orland Park was tagged as uninhabitable following a fire Wednesday evening.

Crews were dispatched to a three-story, six-unit building at 9827 Treetop Drive just before 6:30 p.m. Heavy fire was found in the third floor unit, also extending into the attic, said Ray Hanania, Orland Fire Protection District spokesman.

Heavy fire damage was sustained in that third floor unit and the attic space. Water and other damage was heavy throughout the rest of the building. The fire went to a box alarm and fire was controlled with the help of surrounding departments.
