ORLAND PARK, IL — Hary, the retired Orland Park Police Department K9 officer, has died. The Orland Park Police Department said on Sunday it was sad to share the news of Hary's death, saying in a statement the pooch "bravely" served the community.

Hary was a member of the police department from July 25, 2011 until his retirement on April 1, 2018. His partner was Dave Staszak, who is now a detective with OPPD.

After his retirement, Hary was replaced by Maverick, the current K9 cop in the village.
