Suspected Orland Park Rim Thief Arrested In Indiana

The 61-year-old man, who was wanted for fleeing police, was arrested on a $100,000 warrant, authorities said.

ORLAND PARK, IL — An East Chicago man suspected of stealing rims from an Orland Park Discount Tire store was charged with burglary Wednesday after being arrested several miles away in Lake County, Indiana.

Gregory McDaniel, 61, was arrested in Indiana on a $100,000 warrant, authorities said in a news release. On Wednesday, he was taken to Orland Park Police Department, where he was charged with burglary and fleeing and eluding a peace officer, along with traffic charges.

Police said they were called to the tire store in the 9400 block of 159th Street on April 21. When they arrived, officers found a man near an open trailer that had been used to store products.

The man got in his car and fled from police, authorities said. Investigators said several sets of rims had been stolen from the trailer.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
