Vietnam Vets Invited to Special Welcome Home Concert at Taste of Orland
Concert set for Sunday, Aug. 7.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park invites all Vietnam Veterans to a special welcome home concert during the Taste of Orland Park, August 5–7.
On Sunday, August 7, a free concert featuring Creedence Revived, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band, will be held for Vietnam Veterans at the main stage at the Taste of Orland Park held at Orland Park's Village Center.
"The Village of Orland Park has been a commemorative partner for the Department of Defense's observation of the 50th anniversary of the war," said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin. "We've held a number of events for Vietnam Veterans and are really looking forward to our welcome home concert at the Taste of Orland Park."

"We have reached out to as many veterans groups as possible to get the word out," said Orland Park Veterans Commissioner Tom Dubelbeis, a Vietnam Veteran. "We encourage everyone to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a nice afternoon as we welcome everyone home."
In 2014, the Village of Orland Park was named a commemorative partner for the Vietnam War Commemoration planned by the United States Department of Defense.
The department is observing the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War during the commemorative period of 2015 to 2017.
These events, held across the country, recognize, thank and honor Vietnam Veterans and their families. As a commemorative partner, the Village of Orland Park has held a number of Vietnam related events during the past two years among them hosting the Vietnam Moving Wall in 2015 and having the commemoration logo displayed on the village vehicle sticker.
Details about this year's Taste of Orland Park including participating restaurants, entertainment and fest hours are available on the village's website at www.orlandpark.org/taste, or by calling the village's Recreation Department at 708/403-7275.
