6th Annual STAR WARS DAY in Downtown Joliet

Saturday, June 6th at the Joliet Public Library & Joliet Area Historical Museum - FREE ADMISSION

The Joliet Public Library and the Joliet Area Historical Museum host the 6th Annual Star Wars Day Event on Saturday, June 6th from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. The FREE event starts with a parade at 11am that begins at the Museum and travels down Ottawa street to Cass street where the Joliet American Legion Band will lead over 100 costumed Star Wars characters. Clinton street will be closed off between Chicago and Ottawa streets, and this area will be host to many vendors, food booths, and the music stage. Over 100 costumed Star Wars characters will be on hand for photo ops and more. And it is FREE ADMISSION all day!

All children ages 3-12 will receive a Jedi Passport and will earn Star Wars trading cards for playing games at the Library and Museum and be eligible for Raffles throughout the day. The Museum will be host to kid’s games, costumed characters, Droid Builders, Light Saber Duels, and much more. A partial schedule of events in the Museum’’s Indoor Lower Level Caterpillar Auditorium includes;

Noon - Mr. Freeze Cryogenic Demo
1:00 pm - Lightsaber Duel Demo
2:00pm - History of Star Wars Action Figures
2:30 pm - R2 Droid Builders Club Demo / Q&A
3:30 pm - Lightsaber Duel Demo

So come on out and enjoy a fun and exciting day at the Joliet Public Library and the Joliet Area Historical Museum in downtown Joliet.
