Baseball Bat Killer Arrested At Mi Vape In Shorewood
Shorewood Police picked up Adam Ballard this week. He pleaded guilty in a notorious baseball bat killing in Romeoville in 2014.
SHOREWOOD, IL — Five years after Adam Ballard was involved in the brutal baseball bat killing of 55-year-old Richard Pollack, the former Romeoville resident has been arrested by Shorewood Police on charges of theft from the Mi Vape store. Will County Jail logs indicate that Ballard, now 20 years old, was kept in jail from Dec. 22-24 before posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bail.
A Will County judge ordered Ballard to stay away from the Mi Vape Company in the 900 block of Brookforest Avenue in Shorewood.
This past summer, Patch reported that Adam Ballard, who pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree murder in March, was already free after serving nearly half of his 10-year prison term. That's because he received credit for time served first at the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center and then at the Will County Jail, where he was sent on his 18th birthday.

Adam Ballard was only 15 when he and his father, Mark, were charged in the murder of 55-year-old Richard Pollack after he accused them of burglarizing his car.
Mark Ballard, now 47, continues to sit in the Will County Jail facing first-degree murder charges. Even though he's been in custody since Aug. 11, 2014, his case still hasn't gone to trial, court files show.
