Guiding Lights: Where to Find The Best Christmas Lights in the 'Burbs

The countdown to Christmas is on, and we’re making a list—of outstanding Christmas lights displays—and checking it twice.

The south suburbs offer tons of twinkle and sparkle, and Patch asked our readers to tell us where they’ve seen some of the best—and you didn’t disappoint. Check out our list of some of the displays, and the map to go with it. The map is color-coded by town.

Aurora (Red pin)

Bolingbrook (Yellow pin)

• 1443 W. Briarcliff Rd.: On a residential street. Be mindful to not block driveways.

Channahon (Green pin)

• 27457 W. Fawn Lake Court: R-G-B LED tree with animation; can produce over 2 million different colors, lights all synced to music. Turn your radio station to 106.9 FM. Show runs Sun-Thur 5-10 pm. and Fri-Sat 5-11pm. Located on a cul-de-sac, please be courteous to neighbors trying to enter or leave their driveways.

Crest Hill (Teal pin)

• Springside Drive: Three houses with lights synched to music; tune in on your radio to hear the songs.

Elburn (Purple pin)

• 42W891 Beith Rd.: Food cart on weekends. 12 songs; every other day is a different set. Very popular, so it gets crowded — best to get there by 4:30 p.m.

Joliet (Gold pin)

• 3200 Black Rd.
• 8350 Seaton Ave.
• 716 Westport Dr.: Lots of decor in yard and trees synchronized to music.
• 3650 Terrance Ferry Dr.
• 3111 Evergreen Dr.: 18,500 lights dance to music. Listen along on 105.3 FM.
• 1411 Clement St.: House is covered in three different-colored lights that dance to music.

Lockport (Light green star)

• 16563 Gaylord Rd.: Tons of lights and a really cool display.

Naperville (Dark blue star)

• 1347 Hunter Circle: Light show synched to music. Donations will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Oswego (Dark green circle)

• 148 Concord Drive South: Raises money for the Kendall County Food Pantry.

Plainfield (Orange star)
