I-80 Semi Crash Kills Canadian Driver

SHOREWOOD, IL —A 59-year-old Canadian semi-trailer driver lost his life Thursday afternoon following a crash along the westbound part of Interstate 80 in Troy Township.

The Will County Coroner’s Office announced the death of Barry J. Aleman of Alberta, Canada. He was found dead at 2:22 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 124.

"Mr. Aleman was the driver of a semi tractor-trailer that left the roadway and came to a rest in a bean field," coroners officials announced. Illinois State Police District 5 is now investigating the fatality and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, July 3, to determine the cause and manner of death.
